Our Passion
Hi! We are Kim & Garry Gurley, the owner of Waggin Beach Paradise Doxie. I used to be Chihuahua breeder long long time ago, retired then my love for dachshunds began 16 years ago when I brought home my very first longhair sable red dachshund, Shelby. From the moment she came into my life, she became my best friend, my shadow, and my little therapist. Anyone who has ever owned a dachshund knows they are truly addicting—their personalities are bigger than life, and once you have one, it’s hard to imagine life without them.
While Garry and I were still dating 2 years ago, my neighbor asked me to watch their Boston Terrier, 1 of which was due 2 weeks later so I watched for a week but unexpected that it came 1 week early and I helped with their puppies delivered and took care of it. I missed doing that, so I told Garry that I want to have dachshunds again, we decided to raise dachshunds as our children since all our kids are grown. I have always loved dachshunds and Garry is a dog lover too, so we decided to let Pepper and Ginger join our family. Soon after we added our first male, Paco. When Ginger and Paco welcomed their first litter together right after we got married (yes, a week after, lol), we completely fell in love with raising these incredible little dogs. Watching them grow, develop their personalities, and go on to become cherished members of their new families sparked something special in me. They are truly the foundation of everything Waggin Beach Paradise Doxie has become.
My program has continued to grow and evolve. In addition to smooth coats, I’ve added longhairs, shorthair, wires and silky wires, allowing me to work with a variety of beautiful coat types while continuing to focus on temperament, health, and structure.
At Waggin Beach Pardise Doxie, each litter is carefully planned and raised with love. My goal is to produce dachshunds that are not only beautiful but also wonderful companions that will bring years of joy to their families.
Every puppy begins their life here as part of our family, and it’s incredibly rewarding to watch them grow and find the perfect homes where they will be loved just as much as they are here.
Our Commitment
My commitment is to raise dachshunds that are healthy, well-socialized, and deeply loved from the very beginning. Each breeding pair is carefully selected and thoughtfully planned to ensure the best possible combination of temperament, structure, and overall quality.
Every puppy raised here begins life in a home environment where they receive daily attention, care, and early socialization. This helps them grow into confident, loving companions that are ready to become a cherished part of their new families.
I am dedicated to responsible breeding practices and to supporting my puppy families every step of the way, from the moment a puppy is born to long after they go home.
Our Standards
We make sure all of our pairings compliment each other & are only done to better the breed.
All puppies will see our vet and receive age appropriate vaccinations & a wellness check before leaving for new homes at 10 weeks old. We start the deworming schedule at 2 weeks old and do it every 2 weeks. They’ll be microchipped & the registration for that is no cost to you. I also start my puppies on litter box training to help make the transition to going potty outside easier once they’re fully vaccinated and it’s safe to go outside. I raise all of my puppies inside my home, they’re desensitized to loud noises, other dogs, cats and every day life. They also come pre-spoiled and extra loved. I send home a bag with puppy food samples, toys, a blanket that smells like mom and my home and a folder with all paper work & health records.
